The Lobster Trap

In 2005 The Lobster Trap opened its doors in downtown Asheville with a simple concept: fly in fresh Maine lobsters and people will come.  A decade and half later, they are still coming.

Over the years, The Lobster Trap has consistently earned the ranking of Best Seafood Restaurant in Western North Carolina, and with good reason. The lobsters are still arriving from Maine and Chef Mike has cultivated relationships with sustainable fishermen all over the east coast.

The Lobster Trap is active in efforts to keep our oceans and seafood clean and sustainable partnering with Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch and James Beard Foundation Smart Catch.

Customers are sure to enjoy fresh, innovative dishes that showcase the delicate flavors of seafood.

This is the place for oysters: see the menu for tonight's selection. The bar features many locally crafted beers, including Oyster House, which originated in The Lobster Trap in 2007.  Craft cocktails, seafood friendly wines, live local music and southern hospitality are all on the menu.

Stop by and experience "where the mountains meet the sea" in downtown Asheville.
