Only 20 minutes from our Asheville rental cabins is the historic Grove Park Inn. Built in 1913, the Grove Park was a hotel for the wealthy in America who wanted to stay in luxury while visiting the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains.
Although their rooms don’t hold a candle to the luxury you will find in our Asheville rental cabins, they do have a world class spa that is unequaled in any city. They spent 50 million dollars building this huge subterranean structure that will amaze you around every corner. All 10 of their pools (yes, I said 10) are mineral based and chlorine free. The warm pools inside actually play music that can only be heard while you are underwater. Tracie and I have gone several times and our favorite pool is one of the two therapeutic waterfall pools. If the day is warm, there is plenty of outdoor seating next to the pool (pools are everywhere-hot, warm and cold).
If you plan on going, you need to make an appointment for a spa service. Entry to the spa is not allowed unless you have an appointment that day. On the day of the appointment, bring a book and plan on arriving early and staying late. There’s probably not another time you will be surrounded by this much luxury so you may as well make the most of it.
Be prepared to spend a lot of money; nothing is cheap here. Parking will cost about $20, lunch and dinner will be expensive and the spa service will cost more than you imagined. Not to worry, you’re on vacation and it’s a memory you’ll have forever. When you’re all finished for the day, head back to the sanctity of our Asheville rental cabins, turn on the fireplace, sit on our soft La-Z-Boy sofa and enjoy a good movie.
As of 3/20, the Grove Park is only open to guest staying at the Grove Park Inn.
