Chimney Rock State Park


32 miles (about an hour drive) from our Asheville NC rentals, Chimney Rock State Park is not only a great destination, but the drive to get there is beautiful.


Tracie and I have been to Chimney Rock several times and the elevator have been broken on each of our visits. This is not a problem if you don’t mind walking the 500 steps to get to the top. For us, it was actually a nice hike, but if you’d rather not walk, call them first to see if the elevator is working.


The view at the top is stunning. When you finish at the Park, stop by Medina's Village Bistro for a great meal at a local restaurant.


Now get back to your Asheville NC rental and soak your sore muscles in the hot tub while the steaks are grilling on the gas grill.
